- What is GEOCHEM Fire Suppression Tube System?

The primary goal of automatic fire suppression tube system from speciality geochem is to prevent a fire from spreading. This System is intended to prevent or extinguish fires automatically within seconds. The system consists of a heat sensitive tube made of special plastic which is closed by a fitting. It has both storage and detection function. The extinguishing agent is stored directly in the Tube and no additional storage device such as cylinder is needed.

FM-200 or HFC-227ea is chemically known as Heptafluoropropane or Clean Agent Fire Suppression System, which is a fire suppression agent.

- How does GEOCHEM Fire Suppression Tube System Work?

Fire begin for various reasons in different environment. Combustible liquid, such as the oil-based coolant used in CNC machine, may spark due to friction and ignite. In the electrical panels or server racks, electrical arching can flash and ignite fires. These causes damage to the equipment by melting wire & igniting other flammable material in the environment.

When the temperature in the protected enclosure rises to a critical threshold, the detection tube melts down at the point where the affecting temperature is the highest. Melting the tube creates a hole releasing the entire extinguishing agent stored in the tube onto the source of the fire. FEATURES APPLICATION AREAS

  • Due to physical and chemical properties of the agent, pressure in the tube can vary depending on the ambient temperature. The higher the ambient temperature, the higher pressure in the tube and vice versa at very low temperatures the pressure of agent vapors is zero. Indicator on the pressure gauge can vary from 0 bar (when temperatures are very low) to 15 bar (when temperatures are very high).
